Detailed description of Eagle Creek Golf Club

Eagle Creek Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Norwalk, Ohio.

Eagle Creek Golf Club first opened for play in 1995. The course was designed by Brian Huntley.

Eagle Creek features pristine course-lush fairways, large bent-grass greens, white sand bunkers, wetlands and waterways throughout the entire course. The course winds through woods, water, and valleys with bunkers protecting almost every green. Water hazards come into play on 11 holes, providing a challenge for all skill levels.

Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,603 yards. From the forward tees, the course plays to 4,908 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 526 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 159 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 3, a 449 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 167 yard par-3.

#1 is a straightaway 502 yards, par 5. Tree-lined fairways and two green-side bunkers are your only obstacles until you reach the most undulating green on the course.

#4, a 330 yard par-4 requires an accurate shot to land on the fairway and have to clear a creek twice before reaching the green. The water behind the green offers a challenge that leaves little room for error.

#8, one of the five par 3's, is just a short - to middle-iron (159 yards) to a long, narrow green guarded by water in the front. This is a classic risk/reward hole.

#9 is a par 4 dogleg right that is 397 yards from the furthest tee box. A tree-lined fairway and multiple bunkers make par a well-earned number.

#12, a 198 yard par-3 is perhaps the toughest par 3 on the course with a long tee shot that has every possible hazard sitting in front of it. Large wetland lines the entire right side of the hole and six bunkers entrap the lima bean-shaped green.

The final three holes at Eagle Creek are the most challenging on the course. #16 is a fine 182-yard par 3 that has more water than grass. Not much room for error on this hole, as the green sits diagonally behind an intimidating lake. #17 perhaps the toughest hole on the course, is a long par 4 that is a slight dogleg to the right and features a long, rolling green surrounded by trees. This hole tends to play into the prevailing winds making it a "long" 434 yards. #18, a 523-yard par 5 requires a critical tee shot down the narrow, tree-lined fairway, followed by an approach to a green surrounded by bunkers. A small stream divides the approach and will force the decision to lay up or test the best club in your bag.

A top notch golf course that is always in great condition - challenging but very playable. The prices are very reasonable especially in the spring and fall and even more so for seniors. There are a few houses on the course but not enough to disturb play and well out of the way of the course. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Norwalk it is a must play course and not very busy on the weekdays so you can play a four hour round.
